Anyone who knows me will know that I love hosting parties — ANY excuse to indulge in good food! So it was with this noble mission in mind that I planned the Stellar Communications Consultancy launch party last month.
On the balmy morning of 19 July 2014 (Sat), I hosted an intimate group of clients and associates at the Stellar Launch Party. Many have since become good friends and supported my work over the years. Special shout-outs to Bobby from SLP Scotia, Dominique from Rockwell Land Corporation from Manila, Rachel and Jenny from Sweetest Moments (they do amazing wedding and first-month cakes), Jill from Frasers Centrepoint Malls, Jeff from Seven Seas (I write condo brochures for him), Karin from InkEngineers (awesome design house that I’ve been collaborating with for years) and social media guru Walter from Cooler Insights!
Held at the clubhouse at the Reflections at Keppel Bay condominium, we first feasted on a gorgeous view of Sentosa and bobbing yachts berthed at Keppel Marina.

And then it was time to stuff our faces, for real. As a food critic with 8days mag, I eat more than my fair share of good food and one of my best finds this year is Crosta Pizza Delivery (www.crostapizza.sg). Chef Fernando, who conceptualised and helmed a pizza restaurant chain in Singapore for over a decade, recently started his own pizza delivery business. His pies are hearty, packed with top-notch ingredients imported from Italy (down to the flour and 24-month aged Parma ham) and best of all, are uber affordable. Just $22 for a 12″ pie or grab the current promo of Buy 2 Get 1 free.

Another place I like (and have visited again and again) is Salute, a funky coffeeshop at Bukit Merah (Blk 119, Bukit Merah Lane 1, #01-40, S151119) that is home to stalls like Stew Kuche, Two Wings, Immanuel French Kitchen and Mian (by The Travelling C.O.W.).

Since I eat (and eat) for a living, I reckon it’d be fun to let my guests pretend to be food critics for a day! To celebrate our launch, Crosta Pizza and Salute Coffeeshop’s Stew Küche, Two Wings, Immanuel French Kitchen and Mian sponsored a selection of their yummiest stuff to tickle our palates, spread over 2 parties — our Brunch Party in the morning and a BBQ Party at night. For dessert, berrygerrybakes served up signature (and hard to find) cakes like her famous Pandan Sugee cake. The Stellar writers then live-blogged our party updates on FaceBook and Instagram throughout the day.
Behold this table of awesomeness.

First, we did a little presentation on the Stellar Communications Consultancy website.

Then our guests were introduced to the Stellar Team. Check out our name cards, designed by our very own Olivia Teng.

Time to cut our official launch cake, courtesy of Geraldine Wang from berrygerrybakes. Old-fashioned coconut cake that’s moist and fragrant!

Or attempt to butcher it, if you’re Ayden.

Activity 1: Be a Food Critic for a day
Warning: This will make you very hungry.
Our guests loved the crusty wood-fired pizza and home-made meat balls pasta from Crosta.

The gorgeous Dominique from Rockwell Land Corporation, a luxury property developer in Manila, gave her thumbs-up for Crosta’s Parma Ham salad.

Meanwhile, I gnawed on Stew Küche’s German Pork Knuckle and Crosta’s pizza.

More goodies for foodies, including our home-made Bruschetta and signature Japanese Soy-ginger-spring onion chicken wings that are a hit at every party.

berrygerrybakes’ super addictive Pandan Sugee with gula melaka drizzle satisfied our sweet tooth.

Our clients Rachel and Jenny from Sweetest Moments brought us baked treats to celebrate our launch! Aww… thanks! Check out these pweety cupcakes.

Look who got caught with his tongue out!

Activity 2: Wefies with our guests + Stamp your own Stellar Note Book

Activity 3: Ayden’s ‘5-minute Muah Chee’ cooking demonstration

Stellar Launch Part 2: The BBQ Pig-out
The feasting continued at night with family and friends at Reflections’ BBQ pavilion. We never got around to BBQ-ing — we were stuffed to the gills with posh nosh from Salute Coffee shop’s stalls and fresh delivery from Costa Pizza!

We were still in post-World Cup Euphoria so we chomped on more German Pork Knuckles from Stew Küche. #teamgermany! Gut stuff.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you celebrate a company launch in style — with lots of food and plenty of love. Big hugs to our clients and associates who came to party, and the many, many lovely well wishes we received from those we couldn’t squeeze into our little event! Join us for our next round!
