Food Art with Ketchup

I received a press kit from Lee Kum Kee for my consideration to review their new kawaii tomato ketchup ($1.25 each) for 8days.

It’s a simple but fun idea. Ketchup in a squeezy fat bottle that kids can use to create food art. Since I was hosting a play date for Ayden and a few colleagues’ kids (aged 5, 6 and 8), I decided to get Ayden to review it (#childslavery)

Aww... how cute is this?!

Ayden’s review: It’s fun and I enjoyed drawing on my bread. At first, the bottle is a bit hard to squeeze. But I learned how to do it after I practise. Because I try hard right, mama?

Stella says: Very cute and great way to engage kids. I’d suggest letting picky eaters ‘draw’ on veggies to coax them to eat their greens, instead of just as a dip for fries. But it takes a bit of practice so don’t waste it decorating immediately. Practise on say, a slice of bread first. Once you get the hang of it, I think kids as young as 2 or 3 can start creating food art, with the help of their parents.

Anyways, I LOVE hosting kids and I always try to include some sort of fun activity. The last round, I held a cup cake decorating contest for 10 kids; this time, we did a ‘Decorate My Toast’ contest.  I actually have prizes to be won, sponsored by Lee Kum Kee! #hostesswiththemostest

And here are your contestants….

#1: Reuel, 5

Entry: A chic red-and-white star design that mummy Jelaine shamelessly helped him with, cos Reuel was more interested in playing with Ayden’s Thomas & Friends trains.

Whatcha looking at, punk? Want me to smash your face into my ketchup bread???

#2: Ayden, 6

Entry: A space ship guarded by 4 gummy bears, who look like they’d fought a bloody battle.

My gummy bears died defending their space shuttle in outer space. RIP.
